At Soquel Vineyards, the family roots of brothers and founders Peter and Paul Bargetto run as deep as those of the vines. In 1987, Peter and Paul, with friend Jon Morgan, purchased a five-acre parcel of Grandpa John Bargetto’s “ranch” above Monterey Bay. Here, the three partners established their own Santa Cruz Mountains winery. They now share the responsibilities of winemaking and distribution equally, crafting just 7,500 cases a year at their tiny winery.
